Common questions
What are Polymarket perps?
Polymarket perps are leveraged perpetual futures contracts on real-world markets — indices like the S&P 500, commodities like Gold and Oil, and Bitcoin. "Perpetual" means there is no expiry date; your position stays open until you close it or your margin is exhausted. A funding rate keeps the perp price anchored to the reference index.
Which markets can I trade?
Six markets are live: S&P 500 (SP500-USD), Nasdaq 100 (NAS100-USD), Gold (GOLD-USD), Silver (SILVER-USD), WTI Oil (WTIOIL-USD), and Bitcoin (BTC-USD). All support up to 20x leverage.
How much leverage is available?
Up to 20x on all instruments. Your actual max leverage per trade is capped by the current account config returned by Polymarket's perps API. Olympus displays your current leverage setting in the trade panel.
How does the funding rate work?
A periodic funding payment (charged or earned every hour) keeps the perp's mark price near the reference index price. When the perp trades above the index, longs pay shorts. When it trades below, shorts pay longs. The rate is displayed in the market detail panel.
Are my funds safe while a position is open?
Collateral is held in your non-custodial Olympus wallet, not by Olympus. Olympus interacts with Polymarket's on-chain perps protocol on your behalf using the signing keys tied to your wallet. You can withdraw any unused balance at any time.
How do I close a position?
Open the Perps tab in the Olympus app, find your position in the Positions panel, and click Close. You can close fully or partially. Alternatively, set a TP/SL at open and the position closes automatically when the price hits your level.
Leveraged trading carries significant risk and is not suitable for all users. You may lose more than your initial deposit. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Geo-restrictions may apply per Polymarket's terms of service. Trade responsibly.
